Sunset. Olmstead Point. Yosemite National Park. October 2011.
Another image from my archives. I processed this one a couple months ago and never got around to sharing.
I originally skipped over this image for a few reasons. First, I had already edited and uploaded a few images from this evening at this spot and did not want to create/upload multiple versions of what was basically the same shot, just shot in either a different orientation or slightly different perspective. Second, I did not really feel like I could do this shot justice at the time.
As you can very well see, I did indeed go back and edit this shot, and I am rather pleased with the way it turned out. And I think it is now easily worthy of a place in my gallery and portfolio.
Technical Details: This image was created from two shots, one exposed for the sky, the other for the ground. RAW conversion for both images, then blended with some magic in photoshop. Finished with some contrast and color correction/enhancement techniques.
Update 11-27-2013: I decided I was not happy with the color balance of this shot, it was quite a bit too blue for my tastes, so I went back and re-edited this one to provide a more pleasing color balance and tone back the saturation in some areas.
